The Half Price Books summer reading program for kids 14 and under gives out free Half Price Books gift cards to kids who read for at least 300 minutes during June and July.
The Half Price Books summer reading program for 2013 is called Feed Your Brain Summer Reading Program and it runs from June 1 to July 31, 2013.

Your local library will have many different events taking place during the summer.  Take full advantage of their free services and air conditioning during the summer.
It's a win-win for the whole family!

Box Tops for Education Robot

I love Box Tops for Education & have worked really hard on collecting and promoting them at my school.

Here is a robot I made to help promote them.

I am working on a new collection container to go with the theme Leaders Rock!  If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.  As soon as I create the new collection container, I will post it below.
Thanks so much!

WELCOME!

Here is a little information about me ...

My name is Karen Crawford & I teach 2nd Grade.

I am so excited about starting on a new journey teaching 2nd Grade and starting a blog!

I have taught kindergarten for 16 years and I loved every year.  I can't wait to see the difference between my kinders & 2nd Graders.

My classroom is full of smiley faces.  I love them!
That is how I picked my the name for my blog.

I am married & a mother of three.  I have two boys & one girl.  I also have two dogs.

I hope you will follow me on my journey through 2nd grade.
